Connie Bejarano, or CoBe is a a visual artist working in figurative, whimsical painting and ceramic sculpture. Trained first in fine art and later in archaeology, her practice explores the enduring power of classical myth through a playful and emotionally nuanced lens.
Drawing on ancient stories and forms, she creates ceramic sculptures that echo the textures and fragmentation of archaeological artifacts-objects that feel unearthed from an imaginary past. By reimagining mythological figures like Medusa or Gaia, her work becomes a reflection on contemporary themes of identity, transformation, vulnerability, and memory. Blending humor, fantasy, and history, Connie Bejarano creates work that invites viewers to question what myths we carry-and how they shape who we are.
A defining feature of humanity is the human compulsion to express our awe at the world around us. Throughout history, humans have sought to express the full range of human experience through art.

CoBe's work strives to represent the convergence of
the past, our ideas of it, and the present illustrating that our preconceived notions are nothing more than that; and the future is what we decide to make it.
